  • CrissCross Technologies: Specialise in audio tutorials for computer users who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Desktalk Training and Consultants: Mouse to Keys books: The books interpret mouse instructions into keyboard commands on menu bars, to allow further exploration of online help screens.

  • Apple Disability Site: information on Apple Mac accessibility features for people with all disabilities.
  • British Computer Association of the Blind (BCAB). An organisation of blind computer users and interested parties. Has an active email list, regular newsletters, and frequent training courses.
  • BTCS: the BCAB Trainer Certification Scheme. A certification scheme to provide qualified trainers of access technology for blind and visually impaired clients.
  • DAISY Consortium. A global initiative working towards the digital talking book (recorded books on a CD-ROM). Developments include stand-alone players and computer software for playing structured digital talking books on CD.
  • Deafblind UK: is a national charity which provides a range of support
    services to deafblind adults and their carers. It also campaigns on behalf of deafblind people.
  • Jamal Mazrui's Empowerment Zone: A huge collection of resources on all aspects of life, including technology, collated by Jamal Mazrui, National Center on Disabilities, USA.
  • Microsoft Accessibility Site: lots of information about  what Microsoft are doing with accessibility, and resources to help people with all disabilities.
  • myEyeNet: the Web's most comprehensive source for eyecare information - a large directory of websites specific to vision, and eye care issues, based in New York.
  • National Centre for Tactile Diagrams: a UK-based non-profit organisation which produces tactile diagrams, maps and pictures for education, work and leisure.
  • VICTAR, Visual Impairment Centre for Teaching And Research, at the University of Birmingham: long-standing research and development of teaching methods and technology, including talking typing tutors, and games.
  • Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB), Home Page: the RNIB offers practical support and advice to anyone with a sight problem.
  • RNIB, Research Library: this is Europe's largest, most comprehensive and diverse collection of material covering all aspects of partial sight and blindness.
  • RNIB, Technology Information: A multitude of information about technology for blind and visually impaired computer users, including very helpful FAQs and factsheets.
  • Soundlinks: Sound Solutions Linking People with Information A company specialising in speech access to the Internet and intranets. Training, installation, support and advice available on accessible systems and accessible web design.
  • TRACE Centre: specialists in the design of inclusive technologies for all people.
  • Web Access Initiative, Browsing Information: Lists of access technology for web browsing for blind and partially sighted users.
